Givenchy Gentleman (1974) – Review – OG Masterpiece – transparent leather

Old school leather, sweet, dirty patchouli and vetiver. The fresh top with cinnamon lasts well into the dry down and then it becomes a slighly sweet, but crisp and transparent leather scent. Half old, half modern. Great scent.

I read one review of Faqat Lil Rijal where the person writing described it as reminding him of vintage Givenchy Gentleman plus oud. Would you agree? Do you think Faqat Lil Rijal would be worth blind buying for someone who already likes oud?

I’ve been wearing this MASTERPIECE of a mens’ cologne for easily 25+ years now and I’ll never get tired of it. I get compliments ALL the time and to me, it smells like Egyptian cotton sheets drying on a line during a warm, breezy sunny day right off the ocean! Can’t recommend it any more strongly. And just a note, it’s pronounced “Geee-vaw-chee”, not “give-en-chi”.

Great take on the ole school. I do need to give this one a try.

Great to see a review of this classic scent! Thanks for uploading and great description. I have a 2007 bottle but would love to get the older formulation.
