No ouch implied for M7, I just neglected to address your question. I like M7, have only smelled the relaunched version. To me it smells of apricot leather with a woody drydown.
I gotta try allll these!
Great reviews thanks! I love the original Égoiste as well! I remember owning and wearing it regularly. On another note (pun intended), I wonder what your take is on Encre Noire for men? Thanks
Montales Kabul Aoud for me this autumn. In a nice way it’s so strangely different than “usual” scents – i love it (unfortunately really hard to get).
Btw. i really love your channel & your cheerful nature!
Thanks! I came here for the Tom Ford parfume review.
You are a very strange woman… I love Lolita Lempicka, it’s beautiful and out of this world. I still own my last bottle just because it’s beautiful design, and a year later i can still smell the perfume even though the bottle it’s empty. Whenever i smell it i feel like i’m being transported into a fairy tale woods.
@xyltk I like the Chanel and the Hermès – the former is heavier/cozier, and the latter is more transparent and versatile.
@Randamaye Not for you, eh?
@XXXkisssssXXX It’s invisible, but still has such a presence!
@KatiePuckrikSmells Thanks a lot and i love how you always reply to everyone! Take care x
It’s all my bad English, I meant rather “single kind word” (if it sounds better). Anyways, I have a much better question 🙂 I’m looking for a manly rather traditional elegant not off-putting scent(s). Current faves Lalique White and Guerlain Vetiver. Next logical moves seem to be Rive Gauche and Grey Vetiver (can’t get rid of TF – don’t know why..). Do you think I missed smth good and obvious? Should I try Green Irish Tweed? Just smth for my next fox hunt… (I guess you favor London a bit?)
Love love love all the. Videos and I have learned so much from you Thanks !!!!
Hey Katie,
This Fall I am wearing Green Irish Tweed by Creed, Grey Vetiver (which you mentioned in the video), and Power by Kenzo. Every time I wear Power I smell a lovely tobacco and that rich sweetness makes me immediately think “autumn”
I plan to wear Womanity Eau pour elles, Gina My place or yours and Alien
Whew, for a while I began feeling like Leo next to that big ship.. Are all Kates so fatal to deal with? Anyway, thanks for the tips! Btw I totally loved TFGV – I think it’s foxy enough – for all kinds of those guys, actually 🙂 I can smell a sexy rubber note here – wondering if it’s the same vibe as Bvlg Black. Didn’t enjoy much YSLRG – it smells real good only after like 2 hrs. Also got Caron PUH (luvely!) and M7 (I think u might dig the old versions). hope you smelling good these cold days! 😉
Lolita Lempicka, I smelled it today…..O_O *shudder*
Omg, Katie! I absolutely adore Lolita Lempicka and I totally agree with you, it is 100% autumn fragrance!
My ultimate autumn fragrances are Etat Libre d’Orange’s Afternoon of a Faun and Like This.
Are you still treading water? Here’s my lifesaver: all your faves and next move ideas sound good to me. If you’re looking for a contemporary take on a classic masculine, try Penhaligon’s Sartorial. It would work well for the fox hunt. Another manly/traditional/elegant one to try is Chanel Pour Monsieur (the regular edt, not the concentre version).
J’ador L’or is my New favorite. I don’t know if you have reviewed it yet but you should!
What do you think of L de Lolita Lempicka? I’m thinking I like it more that Lolita Lempicka. That cinnamon and vanilla really do it for me.
Dear Katie, you seem to favor many of Tom Ford’s fragrances – TV, Grey Vetiver, Gucci PH.. I was curious about your feelings towards M7 (preferably the one reformulated – which has a bottle with one wall transparent). Do you personally enjoy it/find it appealing on men? I mean, really.. ))
BTW I was pretty surprised not to find Eau Savage among your top picks, I thought that would be your stuff really – it’s classy, chic yet kind of simple. Probably Vetiver spoiling fun here?
adoro seus vídeos mas não compreendo muito bem. Vc poderia me ajudar com plaquinhas em português que informem se tem Boa projeção e Boa fixação rsrsrs. mas de alguma forma compreendo o que vc diz já sou sua fã!
@Westwoodboy1 Haven’t tried Weekend, but I do very much enjoy Allure Homme Edition Blanche: it’s soft, fresh, subtle and kinda sexy.
Yes! It is so unusual too, on my skin. Thanks for replying 🙂 I just found your videos; will def be checking you out more and linking to you on my blog. I just started my perfume journey a few weeks ago and it’s become an obsession.
O rage! ô désespoir! ô vieillesse ennemie! N’ai-je donc tant vécu que pour cette infamie?
II can recall all the sensations and circumstances of the moment I first smelled Egoiste. I ’twas such a Wow what just happened here moment. Liike you saod
Perfect! Another tobacco I’m loving is Bell’Antonio by Hilde Soliani.
@mebirdo I never had the opportunity to try Fidji. And now, tears because it’s too late.
All smells – like food, flowers, ambient smells (like plastic wrapping, car interiors, etc)? Or just perfume?
@inf0isFree It’s a smokily-charred vetiver-fest. Great, if that’s your bag.
I remember when Margaret Cho made fun of the Égoïste commercial.
I know this is two years late, but I am absolutely obsessed with Memoir and was looking up every review on it, as not many people mention the notes that I seem to get on my skin. With me it opens up with an almost too-sweet smell for a few second, then a few mins later I can only smell a smoky licorice incense base that lasts ages. It is most likely my favourite scent ever (for now!).
It’s pretty darned bold, but if you hold it at arm’s length and spray low (back of knees, or small of the back), you can calm down the effect.
Don’t leave me in this ocean of fragrances alone Katie, don’t do that to me
@KatiePuckrikSmells and btw how long should someone keep their perfumes before they “go bad”, and do perfumes go bad?
@XXXkisssssXXX Keep fragrances away from heat/light/humidity, and they’ll last for years – up to ten for some, if not more. Otherwise, they’ll turn/lose power, even smell rancid/sour after 2 years.
I know what you mean by “smell of an old man who is wearing a distinguished fragrance”, that’s what Penhaligon’s Sartorial smells like when I wear it (and I love it!). But to me L’Eau Trois smells fresher and more nature-like than that. I think you will smell confident and intriguing to men.
I know this is late to respond, but i would like to share my scents for this fall, i will be wearing so far Chanel Egoiste (not because of the video! It was just a coincidence) YSL Body Kouros and Diptyque “L”ambre dans l’eau” I am usually attracted to licorice, musky, woodsy and herbal scents hence the Diptyque cologne. I know you heard that like a Gizzillion times but i love your videos and the funny sarcasm sometimes 🙂 just inspiring
Never too late to respond, especially since you’re right on time for fall fragrances again. Thanks for your list…and for your inspiring compliment!
