Hermés Bel Ami fragrance review

My take on this great leathery, woody scent from 1986

This perfume is good for a men in his late 20s 30 40 50s with a suit or well dress down fitted jeans and a vest with a tie.

Scent Land says:

Didnt get to try Bel Ami Vetiver yet but very intrigued by it as I saw some very positive reviews on that.

Politicians Exposed says:

I love that fragrance. Just tried it a few days ago. Not sure if women like it, though. In general, they don’t seem to be big fans of the Hermes men’s fragrances.

Neo Xerxes says:

Great review! Very much enjoy Bel Ami. Have you had the chance to try Bel Ami Vetiver yet?

Sean says:

Thank you for the great review! I recently have become very interested in fragrances & collecting, found your channel. The first Hermes I sampled was Terre d’Hermes, and I was impressed. I think Jean Claude Ellena is a true genius, some of his creations are like beautiful classical landscape paintings in a bottle. So I have become a bit of a “Hermesophile”! Last week I went to an upscale mens boutique and they had a great Hermes collection–I sampled Bel Ami, Equipage, Rocabar, and 2 from Un Jardin line: Sur le Toit, and Sur Le Nil. I was blown away by each one. Thanks again.

Jim R says:

I never smelled the vintage version of Bel Ami (I know a lot of folks were unhappy with the reformulation) but I put my nose on the latest version of this fragrance at the Hermes store last summer. My opinion was that it was nice, but it really didn’t wow me in any way.  However, I had one of the associates reserve a bottle of Bel Ami Vetiver since they were popular and not widely available at the time, and I loved it…absolutely loved it. It’s one of my favorite Vetiver fragrances and I often hear of it being compared to the original Bel Ami.  Regardless, excellent review!

Bel Ami is one of my favourite scents with a perfect blend of wood (cedar) and leather. I love to use it even knowing that it does not last very long.
